OnePlus 7 Pro | The Unbeatable Phone of the Year
OnePlus 7 Pro |
Now that the OnePlus 7 Pro has been out for a few months and we got the chance to spend some time with it. It is about time to have a detailed review of this phone. But, before we go into the details of the specs and performance, we have to have a final verdict for those who like to get a quick result without having to get all technical. So, here we go!
OnePlus 7 Pro rating: Yay or Nay?
Overall, this is a phone with so few downsides to it that it is very hard to find a feature or a specification that can qualify as a flaw or a downside. OnePlus is always telling us to "Never Settle" and that is exactly what the level of OnePlus 7 Pro's features are saying as well.
However, getting too close to the flagship prices definitely got the OnePlus 7 Pro out of the mid-range affordable smartphones.
Since the beginnings of the OnePlus phones, it has been viewed as a "flagship killer", which means that OnePlus gives us the flagship premium features, close to what you can find in an Apple iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy. at the mid-range prices. This is why, for the OnePlus 7 Pro price to be this expensive, is a disadvantage.
So, our verdict is that it is an impressive phone that gets a big fat "Yay!", but a bit too expensive compared to its traditional competitors.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
OnePlus 7 Pro review: Display
The first thing we noticed about the OnePlus 7 Pro is that it is a large phone. The good thing about a phone this size that it comes with a big screen. OnePlus has gone the extra mile of removing the annoying notch that brought Apple's iPhones users much discontent. The front of the OnePlus 7 Pro is all screen which we very much appreciated!
After a while of using any phone, however, we get used to the screen's size and the first impression of the "Wow, it's all screen!" fades away. The thing that is going to be noticed every day is the quality of the display itself. So, let's talk about that!
OnePlus 7 Pro has a 6.67-inch screen that curves around the corners giving it this infinity display that we absolutely love! The display is a fluid AMOLED. At first, the name seemed new and unfamiliar. However, as we used and tested the phone, we noticed that it gives the best color saturation and true-to-color graphics that we only found in gaming smartphones. With a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, the OnePlus 7 Pro gets a 10/10 in terms of display quality!
OnePlus 7 Pro review: Camera
The most eye-catching feature of the OnePlus 7 Pro is its camera system. Whether it is the triple camera system in the back or the intriguingly-placed front camera, we were very eager to see how both cameras will perform.
The pop-up camera!
Although it is very exciting to have a phone with a pop-up camera, the concern of the mechanism performance over time is ever-present. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the OnePlus 7 Pro's front camera has a very smooth and, more importantly, quiet motor that gets the camera to pop up in less than a second.
The one downside to this camera is with the FaceID as you'll have to wait for the camera to pop before you can unlock the phone. If you're willing to compromise and use the fingerprint ID instead, this phone is flawless!
In terms of quality, the front camera of the OnePlus 7 Pro shoots 16MP photos and films 4K videos. This phone is absolutely perfect for vlogging. That's all we're going to say about this camera's amazing quality!

The triple camera
The triple camera system on the back of the OnePlus 7 Pro contains:
• A 48Mp main camera
• An ultra-wide lens that shoots 16MP photos
• An 8MP telephoto lens
This camera system was one of the best surprises in the OnePlus 7 Pro. Since we didn't expect much based on our previous experiences with OnePlus cameras, we were very happy to find that the OnePlus 7 Pro has one of the best camera systems not just in the history of the Chinese company, but among its competition as well.
Final thoughts: Should you buy the OnePlus 7 Pro?
If you are a flagship enthusiast, the short answer is yes! OnePlus 7 Pro has all the flagship features in a close quality without a fail. The display and camera in addition to the battery life are the best you can get even in higher-priced smartphones.
What if you are used to paying the mid-range price for your smartphones? Well, it may be time for you to try the OnePlus 7 Pro features and get into the flagship quality without hitting that €999 line!
OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro?
You can always go for OnePlus 7 which is a less expensive option, but it also comes with less everything just by one step. For example, the OnePlus 7 has a Gorilla Glass 5 protection whereas the OnePlus 7 Pro has Gorilla Glass 6. Resolution in the OnePlus 7 display is 1080 x 2340 which is less than the OnePlus 7 Pro display but still offers high-res.
The big sacrifice, of course, comes with the camera as the OnePlus 7 has a dual main camera system with a 48MP main camera and a 5MP depth sensor.
All in all, the OnePlus 7 Pro is a monster phone that can be seen as the first of its kind. Regardless of the price issue, it is definitely a winner!
